How to save TikTok downloads on iPhone
Find downloaded videos and photos in Files, open a slideshow ZIP, and move supported media to Photos.
A completed browser download may be in Files even if it is not in your Photos library. First find the file, then decide whether to leave it in Files or save a supported video or image to Photos.
Start the download in LitTik
- Copy the public TikTok post link and open LitTik in Safari.
- Paste the link, select View TikTok, and check the post preview.
- Choose an available video or photo download. For several slideshow images, you can choose the ZIP option instead.
- Wait for the download to finish and accept any download prompt shown by your browser.
If you opened LitTik inside another app and cannot find the download controls, open the page in Safari and try again.
Find the file in Safari or Files
In Safari, use the Downloads control near the search field to see recent downloads. You can also open Files, choose Browse, and look in iCloud Drive’s Downloads folder. If you use a different download location, check that location instead. Apple explains these options in its guide to finding downloads on iPhone and iPad.
LitTik filenames include the creator and post ID, which can help distinguish files with similar previews. A download-started message means your browser has been asked to save the file; check its download list to confirm completion.
Open a slideshow ZIP
Find the ZIP in Files and tap it. Files creates a folder containing the extracted images; open that folder to view them. These steps are documented in Apple’s instructions for opening ZIP files.
The ZIP contains individual photos, so it will not play like a slideshow video. If you need only one image, return to the photo downloader and use its individual download button.
Move supported media to Photos
Open a downloaded image or video in Files and use the Share menu. Choose Save Image or Save Video if that action is available. Extract a ZIP first: the archive itself cannot be saved as a photo. Apple also describes the image-saving action in its Files user guide.
If no save action appears, keep the original file in Files and check whether iPhone can preview its format. Do not rename a file extension to try to convert it. Available actions can vary with the file type and the app you are using.
If a file is missing or will not open
Check whether the download actually completed, whether your device has free storage, and whether you are looking in the configured download folder. If the transfer failed, reopen the TikTok post in LitTik and request a fresh download. See the download troubleshooting guide for expired links and unavailable posts.
